About us
The Spanish Association for Corpus Linguistics (AELINCO) is a national association founded at the University of Murcia in 2008 by a group of university lecturers and teachers aiming at promoting studies and research in the field of Corpus Linguistics. Corpus-based research examines authentic language as opposed to constructed or invented samples as the main source for analysis. Computers and statistical inferences are necessary tools for arriving at reliable conclusions.
Goals of AELINCO
AELINCO will centre on promoting linguistic research based on the analysis of digital language compilations of different sizes, in different geographical areas, different languages and different varieties.
Our Statutes read:
Our Association aims specifically at promoting the use of digital corpora to do research in language, in any of its fields and subfields, and in any human activity based on language.
