I am currently a PhD student at Lancaster University. My project focuses on how 'sustainable fashion' is constructed and circulated linguistically in Shanghai's high-end market and how added value is created discursively through those processes. It aims to contribute to a better understanding of changing consumption patterns in and around the ‘first-tier cities’ in China, such as Shanghai, and the representation of a growing middle- and upper-class in discourses produced and circulated within the industry.
