XVIII Congreso Internacional de Lingüística de Corpus (CILC2027)
18th International Conference on Corpus Linguistics (CILC 2027)
‘Exploring the future of Corpus Linguistics: cultural and social impact of technological innovations’
19-21 May 2027
University of Ferrara
The eighteenth edition of AELINCO's International Conference on Corpus Linguistics (CILC2027) will be held at the University of Ferrara, 19-21 May, following the AELINCO three-day schedule. The conference is organised locally by the University Language Center (CLA-UNIFE) and the Department of Humanities. The University of Ferrara is one of the oldest universities in the world. The foundation of the ‘Studio di Ferrara’ was granted by Pope Boniface IX with the papal bull ‘In Supremae Dignitatis’ on 4th March 1391, at the request of Marquis Alberto V d’Este. Law, arts and theology courses were offered in the Studio. With 68 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses and more than 25,000 students, the University of Ferrara now has thirteen Departments and the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Prevention, located in prestigious buildings and modern premises immersed in the urban environment, forming a true university campus characterised by its distinctive identity.
The University Language Center (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo - CLA) promotes and develops multilingualism among students, incoming researchers and administrative staff. The CLA is also a research center which has organized in the last years seminars and international conferences about language teaching and learning, new technologies and education, inclusive language and discourse studies. CLA members are specialized in research and development of digital tools, Corpus Linguistics and Corpus-Assisted Discourse Studies, Applied Linguistics, Digital Humanities, LSP, Translation Studies and inclusive language studies.
This edition of CILC will have as its theme ‘Exploring the future of Corpus Linguistics: cultural and social impact of technological innovations’.The conference intends to open a space for discussion along different lines of inquiry: rethinking traditional teaching methods through new technologies, corpora in language acquisition, multimedia teaching materials, using corpus analysis to foreground linguistic diversity, corpus-based methods for inclusive language teaching, corpus-assisted research on language inclusivity, corpora approaches to social issues (e.g., health, gender and sexuality, education, media, technology, politics), corpus compilation of social media, new media and hybrid text types, corpora and figurative language, corpora and translation studies.
Following the tradition of AELINCO conferences, CILC2027 will take place over three days, from 19 to 21 May. Along with contributions from participants, who will share the latest advances in their respective areas of expertise, there will be plenary lectures by internationally renowned specialists and thematic roundtables.
On this occasion, in line with previous conferences, we will have the unique contribution of the following specialists:
- Federica Formato (University of Brighton)
- Niall Curry (Manchester Metropolitan University)
- Stefania Maci (Ca’ Foscari University, Venice)
- The fourth keynote speaker will be announced soon
We encourage all interested participants to start preparing their proposals.
Updated information will be available on the conference website, that will be updated in the next months. For any further information, you can contact us at the following email: CILC2027@unife.it
