I graduated in Anglogermanic Studies (English major) and obtained my PhD at the University of Valencia. As a visiting scholar and researcher, I spent some time mainly in Sheffield (UK) and NSU (La, USA), and much shorter periods at other European universities.
I am an Associate Professor at the English and German Department (University of Valencia) where I have taught subjects such as the History of the English Language, English in Contact with other languages at undergraduate and graduate levels. Currently, my teaching has centred on Morphology and Lexicology and, in our Master's Degree (Master of Advanced English Studies), I teach Applied Corpus Linguistics. Also, as part of my teaching experience and interest, I started to co-edit the series Working with Words, a collection of linguistic and translation textbooks for undergrads published by PUV (Publicacions Universitat de València).
In my research, as a member of the COMETVAL research team, my main focus has been the compilation of multilingual (Spanish, French, and English) corpora, with applications in phraseology, lexicography, translation and, more specifically on the different discourse of tourism websites.
I am also the General Editor for the new IULMA Monographs (University of Valencia), where (peer-reviewed) research in applied linguistics is published.
