Carlos van Arkel is Assistant Professor of English Linguistics at the University of La Laguna (ULL) and has a solid career in university teaching. He holds a Ph.D. in English Linguistics from the National University at a Distance (UNED). He specializes in English Linguistics, Cognitive and Functional Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics and the use of IA in Applied Linguistics. He is a member of the Computational Semantics-Linguistic Engineering Research Group (COSLING) and of the Andrés Bello University Institute of Linguistics (INULAB). He has worked extensively in the fields of Diachronic Linguistics and Functional and Cognitive linguistics and has published several scientific articles with impact in these fields. He has also participated in several research projects in Cognitive Linguistics at the University of Cordoba (UCO).
