VIII International Conference on Corpus Linguistics (CILC 2016)

The Spanish Association of Corpus Linguistics (AELINCO) and the local Organizing Committee are pleased to announce that the 8th International Conference on Corpus Linguistics (CILC2016) will be hosted by the Department of English, French and German Philology and the Tecnolengua Group at the University of Málaga on March 2-4, 2016.

Corpus Linguistics methodologies far exceed today the realm of linguistic inquiry. Computational linguists, Natural Language Processing researchers, and Language Industry companies and professionals have relied heavily on the availability and exploitation of text corpora from which to extract relevant linguistic information. These days, the vast majority of both research work and real-world, natural language-focused applications are based on text data. This realization has led us to dedicate our 2016 Conference theme to the role of corpus linguistics resources and techniques in such applications, under the heading Academia Meets Business: corpus studies in Language Industry and Computational Linguistics applications.
